Master of Psychology, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist/Art Therapist, License 100622
A sincere desire to offer people the most informed care possible prompted me to pursue graduate level education. I completed a Masters in Clinical Christian Counseling from Restoration Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia and worked as a volunteer minister/counselor in the church, homeless shelters, and on the street, for many years, helping clients of all ages with problems ranging from depression and teen rebellion to divorce, suicidal ideation, and death.
In order to pursue counseling as a profession I returned to graduate school at Phillips Graduate Institute to earn a Master of Psychology in Marriage Family Therapy/Art Therapy (MA, MFT/AT) to better serve hurting people.
My volunteer training experience at Strength United (formerly Valley Trauma Center) gave me the opportunity to counsel individuals, groups and families in marginalized communities to overcome issues with substance use, child abuse or neglect, anger management, teach better parenting, living and social skills, and to connect them to local community services to aid recovery. I worked at Tarzana Treatment Centers Youth Residential facility in Lancaster, CA, and currently serve Military Families in Fort Irwin National Training Center in San Bernardino County, CA.
My most exciting experience was working with former child soldiers at the Laroo School in Gulu Uganda you can learn more about on the Child Soldier Art page.
I am passionate about helping others to overcome painful mental and emotional challenges and live happy fulfilled lives.
